The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= August 19. 2005 2:27PM Joseph Donnes [Photo] Joseph John "Frozen Joe" Donnes, 83, a native and resident of Thibodaux, died at home Thursday morning, Aug. 18, 2005. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 2 at St. Joseph Catholic Life Center in Thibodaux. A memorial service will follow. He is survived by one sister, Yvonne Toups; four children, Anne Donnes Higdon and Chet, Robert Joseph and Jeff Donnes; 11 grandchildren, Margaret Scarborough Thompson, Sarah Frances Scarborough, Anne Scarborough, Lauren Donnes Thompson, Alaine Donnes Lafaso, John, Renee, Michelle, Robert, Jacob and Ross Joseph Donnes; and four great-grandchildren, Marshall Thompson, Ambar, Nancy and John Ross Donnes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Annie Naquin Donnes and Jean-Louis Pierre Donnes; and his wife, Frances Drummond Donnes. He was born Jan. 8, 1922 in Thibodaux. During World War II, he served as a bombardier with the Army Air Corp stationed in Arizona, where he met his wife Frances "Frankie" Drummond. They were married 57 years. In his first career, he was a frozen-food broker, operating Donnes Frozen Foods, later Quality Frozen Foods. In his second career, he was in the insurance business, operating Gulf South Financial Advisors. He was an active member of Kappa Alpha Order, the E.D.
