Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, with burial in St Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his wife, Janice Guillory Fontenot; two sons, Chip and Marc Fontenot; four daughters, Michelle and husband, Brian Boudwin, Toni Glynn, Denise and husband, Steve Portier, and Dorothy Fontenot; three brothers, Beverly Fontenot and wife, Gayle, Herbert Fontenot and wife, Stephanie, and Joseph Fontenot; one sister, Barbara and husband, Mack Corcoran; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Lula Pitre Fontenot; one son, Lionel Fontenot; and one daughter, Yvette Fontenot. He was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He retired from BellSouth after 36 years of service. He was a part-time deputy for the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office and a member of the Telephone Pioneers, St. Bernadette Knights of Columbus and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
