Merle Carter						[Photo]

Merle E. Carter, 72, a resident of Houma, died at 5:37 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 
2005.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Samart Funeral Home in Houma. 
Graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Grace Christian Memorial Gardens 
Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia L. Carter; two sons, James Rosamond and 
wife, Peggy Lynn, and Thomas "Tank" Henettie; one daughter, Sherry Rosamond; 
three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Ruth Little Carter; one 
son, Rickie Rosamond; and one daughter, Annie Carter.

He was retired and was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was a member of the NRA and His House Tabernacle.
