The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= The Courier, Houma Louisiana Aug. 26, 2005 Mildred Smith Mildred deMonsabert Smith, 85, a native of New Orleans, former resident of Houma and resident of Baton Rouge, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2005. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Rabenhorst Funeral Home-East in Baton Rouge. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, John Al Smith; one daughter, Kathleen Ortego and husband, Roy of Baton Rouge; one son, Stephen Smith and wife, pat, of Baton Rouge; two sisters, Loretta deMonsabert of Baton Rouge and Camille Dyer and husband, Dr. Herbert Dyer of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and one step great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert Sr. and Loretta deMonsabert; and two brothers, Gilbert deMonsabert Jr. and Robert deMonsabert. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation can be made to Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge.
