The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= August 09. 2005 12:00AM Milton Ockman Milton Henry Ockman, 62, a native of New Orleans and resident of Raceland, died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2005. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Raceland. Celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Mass will be at noon Wednesday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Susan Chauvin Ockman of Raceland; two sons, Ronald Joseph Ockman and wife, Yvonne, and Mark Robert Ockman, all of Raceland; one daughter, Stephanie O. Pitts and husband, Wes, of Raceland; three sisters, Marie O. Williams and husband, Cliff, of Georgetown, Texas, Gloria O. Norton and husband, Raymond, of Waveland, Miss., and Earline O. Carambat and husband, Joe, of Waveland; one sister-in-law, Amelie Ockman of Metairie; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Joseph Ockman and Palmire Tanguis Ockman; and one brother, Robert Ockman Jr. He was a retired engineer for Union Pacific Railroad and was a U.S. Marine Corps of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and the Marine Corps League serving as Paymaster and Commandant. He was coordinator for Toys for Tots and the Bayou Parish Detachment of The Young Marines. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to ALS (Lou Gerhig's Disease) Association, Louisiana Chapter, P.O. Box 66825, Baton Rouge, La. 70896-6825.
