Ruth Hassell

  Ruth Brooks Hassell, 77, a native of Westwego and a resident of Bourg, died at 
11:50 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26, 2005

   She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Elgene Brooks and wife Elizabeth Ledet 
Brooks of Lafayette, Glen Warren Brooks, and wife Ramona Bourgeois Brooks, and 
Faron Keith Brooks and wife, Jennifer Henry Brooks, of Summit, Miss.; one 
daughter, Adia Brooks Landry and husband, David Landry of Bourg; two step sons, 
Tom Hassell and wife Ruth of Cut Off, and Mrs. and Mrs. Warner Hassell Jr. of 
Tennessee; two sisters Georgia Porche and Rhoda Savoie; one brother Earl Joseph 
Savoie; 16 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 
three step-great-grandchildren.

   She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry E. Brooks; her second 
husband, Warner Hassell; her parents, Joseph Savoie and Gracieus Martin Savoie; 
one son, Kirby Wayne Brooks; four brothers, Warren, Hudson, Nolan, and Titus 
Savoie; five sisters, Nora Savoie, Lorina Babin, Eula Savoie, Hilda Smith and 
Pearl Savoie; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

  She was a homemaker and a member of Assembly of God of Bayou Blue.
