Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Annunziata Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No 2. He is survived by four sons, Johnny R. Lopez, James C. Lopez and wife, Janice, David L. Lopez and wife, Michele, all of Houma, and Michael S. Lopez and companion, Connie Hodges, of Harvey; one daughter, Debra M. Lopez Harper and companion, David Adams, of Harvey; one brother, Jessie Lopez of Picayune, Miss.; one sister, Stella Moon of Alvin, Texas; nine grandchildren, James Lopez and Gregory Lopez of Houma, Richard Harper of Virginia Beach, Va., Adam Harper of Houma, Philip Harper of Waco, Texas, Robert Harper of Gretna, Garrett Lopez, Conner Lopez and Lauren Lopez of Houma; and one great-grandchild, Alexander Harper of Waco. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Lopez Sr. and Mary DeMarcey Lopez; one brother, Raywood Lopez; and one sister, Audrey Lopez. He was a retired welder who worked with Gemoco-Weatherford for 40 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church.
