Dedon, 72, a native of Baton Rouge and resident of Golden Meadow, died at 2:38 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 2005. Visitation will be from 4 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Samart Funeral Home in Cut Off. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by five sons, Walter Jacob Dedon and wife, Christina, Randall Dedon, Jason Dedon, Joshua Dedon and Jacob Dedon; five daughters, Mamie D. Hurst and husband, Paul, Nancy D. Bonaventure, Patricia D. Roberts, Alice D. Martin and Carolyn D. Bouziga and husband, George; one brother, Sonny Dedon; six sisters, Alice D. Millet, Dorothy D. Hrychuck, Lillie D. Hall, Barbara Jean D. Alonzo, Bertha D. Androski and May "Sister" D. Duplessis; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Redden Dedon; his parents, Jacob and Fannie Ebby Dedon; and four brothers, Alfred, Elmo, Hubert and Buddy Dedon. He was retired from Baton Rouge Department of Public Works and a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church.
