Demere, 83, a native of Everglades, Fla., and resident of Golden Meadow, died at 1:25 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005. Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Samart Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at the Lighthouse Worship Center in Cut Off. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the center, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Stevens Demere; two sons, Delton Demere and Damas Demere; one daughter, Bernice Kibodeaux; two brothers, Stanley Demere and Richard Demere; three sisters, Fay Gooding, Peggy Gooding and Betty Goff; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, St. Clair and Exie Hamilton Demere; one grandson, Gordon Kibodeaux; and one sister, Estelle Brown. He was a retired fisherman and a member of the Lighthouse Worship Center.
