The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= Friday, September 2, 2005 James Garrett Jr. James "Jimbo" Daniel Garrett Jr., 52, a native of Houma and resident of Theriot, died at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in St. Eloi Cemetery. He is survived by his father, James D. Garrett Sr., of Houma; his stepfather, Carrol Brunet Sr.; two daughters, Carolyn Marie Phillips and husband, Stuart, of North Carolina, and Michelle Garrett of Houma; two brothers, John Garrett of Baton Rouge and Floyd Chatagnier and wife, Angelle, of Houma; one sister, Melinda Voisin and husband Ted, of Theriot; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Clarissa Gautreaux Brunet; one son, Joseph Garrett; and one granddaughter. He was a truck driver with Acme Truckline and a parishioner of St. Eloi Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Red Cross or any Hurricane Relief Fund.
