Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at Third Zion Baptist Church in Raceland. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in Young Men's Benevolent Cemetery at Lafourche Crossing. He is survived by his wife, Pearl Coleman Lofton of Thibodaux; one son, Jeffery Lofton of Raceland; four daughters, Dianne Lofton of Thibodaux, Tina Terrance of Baton Rouge, Odessa Davis of Vacherie and Norma Young of Gray; one brother, Elijah Lofton Sr. of Marrero; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Lofton Sr. and Ella Triggs Lofton; two brothers, Hosea and Alfred Lofton; and two sisters, Hester and Amelia Lofton. He was Baptist and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from South Coast Sugar Mill Co. and worked at Wag-A-Pack stores III and VII.
