The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= September 13. 2005 3:48PM Minest Foret [Photo] Minest Joseph Foret, 77, a native of Little Caillou and resident of Yuma, Ariz., died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, after a five-year battle with cancer and other illnesses. A memorial service will be at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. Burial will be held in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., with full military honors. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Delora Fluharty Foret of Yuma; two daughters, Aurelie Elizabeth Foret, of Yuma, and Aimee Delora Foret Zundell of Reno, Nev.; one brother, Murphy Foret of Houma; two foster brothers, Junis Foret of Little Caillou and Robert Foret of Houma; one foster sister, Rita Mae Trahan Falgout of Houma; his grandchildren, Aimee and Jonathan Foret Almaxan and Alexis Foret Zundell; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Aurelia Foret Trahan, Bernice Foret Price and Ann Foret Bourque; three brothers, Tonis Foret, Ernest Foret and Percy Foret; and one foster brother, Gervis Foret. He attended schools in Little Caillou and Houma and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1944 to serve in World War II. He rose through the ranks and was commissioned an officer. He served in the Korean War and the Vietnam War where he received a Bronze Star with Combat V. He served a total of 30 years in the U.S. Navy. He received numerous medals and commendations throughout his career. He attended many schools and universities and received advance degrees in business administration and political science.
