The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= September 07. 2005 12:25PM Murphy Dupre, Sr. [Photo] Murphy Joseph Dupre Sr., 82, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Chauvin, died at 10:07 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005. Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chauvin. Mass will at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Dolores "Sue" Lyons Ledet Dupre of Houma; three sons, Wayne Jude Dupre and wife, June, of Chauvin, Joel "Joey" Felix Dupre and wife, Gretchen, of Bayou Blue, and Murphy "Mickey" Dupre Jr. and wife, Paula, of Chauvin; one daughter, Maria Clavia Dupre and companion, Karen Dahmer, of Seminole, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Dena Redmond and husband, Casey, of Montegut; one stepson, Albert Ledet Jr., and wife, Bessie, of Houma; four brothers, Marquis J. Dupre of Theriot, Allen J. Dupre of Amelia, Willard Naquin of Dulac, and Alvin Naquin of Des Allemands; four sisters, Julia "T-Lou" Adams of Chauvin, Dora Lee Authement of Houma, Olivia Hunt of Des Allemands and Victoria Savoie of Luling; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step- great-grandchildren; and several step-great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Eta Pellegrin Dupre; his parents, Maurice Dupre and Felicia Julia Dupre; one stepdaughter, Charlotte Ledet Chauvin; three brothers, Victor "Gus," Phillip and Lionell Naquin; and one sister, Aline Matherne. He was a retired Terrebonne School Board custodian. He was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II. He was an usher at St. Joseph Catholic Church, a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, member and past commander of V.F.W. Post No. 9608, member of American Legion Post No. 380, past member of the Terrebonne Parish School Board, past employee of the state Department of Motor Vehicles, and retired from Texaco Oil after 37 years. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
