Roy Sobert						[Photo]

Roy L. Sobert, 85, a native of Labadieville and resident of Thibodaux, died 
Friday, Sept. 23, 2005.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. Joseph Co-
Cathedral Life Center in Thibodaux. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the 
center.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Sobert; one son, Roy Sobert; one daughter, Judy 
Soignier; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Judith Melancon Sobert and Andre' A. 
Sobert; four brothers, John, Andrew, Henry and Robert Sobert; and one sister, 
Julie Boudreaux.

He served as a member of the Lafourche Parish School Board for 32 years, as 
president of the Lafourche Parish School Board for 10 years and was a member of 
the Knights of Columbus, Lafourche Crossing No. 308 Fire Department, Woodmen of 
the World and Independent Athletic Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
