Davis, 68, a native of Detroit, Mich., and resident of Houma, died at 5:05 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to funeral time Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Liturgy of the Word will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel. He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Doherty Davis of Houma; two sons, Paul M. Davis and Patrick J. Davis and companion, John Duplantis, of Houma; one daughter, Kristin L. Acosta and husband, Thomas J. Acosta, of Houma; one brother, Ronald T. Davis of Springhill, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Shelbie Acosta and Blaine Acosta of Houma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul H. Davis and Martha Todd Davis; and one daughter, Kim M. Davis. He was a retired machinist with Weatherford Gemoco for more than 30 years and was a U.S. Army veteran. He volunteered his time at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church and enjoyed traveling in his retirement with his wife in their RV. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
