Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at Thibodaux Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Genevieve Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Beulah Ordogne Roger; five sons, Wallace Roger Jr. of Thibodaux, Robert "Ro Bear" Roger and wife, Cathy, of Broussard, Barry Roger of Lafayette, Gregory "Greg" Roger of St. Paul, Minn., and Gerard C. Roger and wife, Leah, of Abbeville; one daughter, Sheila Roger of Shreveport; two brothers, Noland Roger and Peter Roger; two sisters, Flora R. Guillot and Unna R. Borne; nine grandchildren, James "Jim Bo" Bodenheimer of Shreveport, Becky Beach of Longview, Texas, Brett Roger, Mathew Roger and Nathan Roger, all of Thibodaux, Lauren Roger and Robbie Roger, both of Broussard, and Luke Roger and Jude Roger, both of Abbeville; and eight great-grandchildren, Ben, Hannah Grace, Andrew, Katy, Sherry Ann and John Mark Bench of Longview and Braden Roger and Drey'ton Roger, both of Thibodaux. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Roger and Julia LeRay Roger; two brothers, Freddie Roger and John Roger; four sisters, Lena R. Tregre, Clothilde R. Richard, Laura R. LeBlanc and Beatrice R. Lajaunie Peltier. He worked for Delta Drilling Co. and retired after 32 years as a driller and tool pusher and was a U.S. World War II veteran receiving the purple heart. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 114 3rd degree and loved to work the Knights of Columbus Thursday night bingo. He enjoyed gardening and hunting. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Associa-tion, American Heart Associa-tion or American Diabetes Association.
