The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= September 16. 2005 2:08PM Willie Franklin Sr. [Photo] Willie Lee Franklin Sr., 66, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Houma, died at 10:22 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2005. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Community Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at St. Luke Baptist Church in Bayou Black. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Rose Dell Jackson Franklin; five sons, Willie Lee Franklin Jr. of Houma, Kerry Lee Franklin and wife, Amanda, of Raceland, Terry Lee Franklin and wife, Cynthia, of Gray, Andrew Riles of Patterson and Kevin Dyvent Franklin and wife, Linda, of Dularge; three daughters, Lula Marie F. Leggett and husband, Richard Sr., of Schriever, Regenia Ann Franklin of Houma and Mary Ann Riles Scott and husband, Terry, of Patterson; one sister, Barbara Franklin; 30 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Sr. and Lula Matthews; two sons, Willie Lee Franklin I and Kenney Dwayne Franklin Sr.; one brother, Earl "Sonny" Franklin Jr.; and one grandson, Kenney Dwayne Franklin Jr. He was a retired truck driver from Barroid Oil and Gas and was Baptist. Memorial donations can be made to the cancer care center at Terrebonne General Medical Center.
