Eschete, 66, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Chauvin, died October 2005. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Samart Funeral Home in Houma and from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bourg, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Pat Elliot Eschete; mother Hilda Foret Eschete; one son, Joe Walter Eschete; four brothers, Magnus Eschete Jr. of Chauvin, Charles Eschete and wife, Cathy, of Oak Creek, Wis., Gary Eschete and wife, Pat, of Silverdale, Wash., and John Eschete of Houma; three sisters, Rosalie Bascle and husband, Elmo, of Dularge, Debora Hotard and husband, Dale, of Houma and Tris Bergeron of Houma. He was preceded in death by his father, Magnus Eschete. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard and a retired boat captain for LeBouef Brothers Towing.
