Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Victory Christian Center. Religious service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his wife, Ressie Lee Anderton Whitfield of Houma; two daughters, Joyce Whitfield Denson and husband, Bobby, and Grace Whitfield of Houma; one daughter-in-law, Bernice Whitfield McCrorie of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Joy Ridens of Houston and Onita Wilson of Big Springs, Texas; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan Whitfield and Elanda Dee Thrash Whitfield; one son, Kenneth Doyle Whitfield; three brothers, Alton, Charlie and Harold Whitfield; and one sister, Jean Fuller. He was a retired motorman with Wheele's Drilling Co. and a member of the Unity Lodge No. 267 F & A.M. He was a member of Victory Christian Center.
