Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Residence Baptist Church. Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Monday at the church. Dismissal will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in Mechanicville Emmanuel Baptist Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Hayes Hite Jr. of Houma and Melvin Lee Hite of Houma; five daughters, Judy Hite Carter, Rose Hite Johnson, Albertha Hite Francois, Mary Hite and Brenda Thomas, all of Houma; four brothers, Fred Smith of Oakland, Calif., Nickolas Smith of Stockton, Calif., and General Smith and Daniel Smith of Houma; 26 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hayes Hite Sr.; her parents, Maude and Alberta Smith; one daughter, Barbara Hite Norman; four brothers, Frank, Norris, John C. and Edison Smith; three sisters, Louise S. Williams, Carol L. Smith and Rose Lee Smith. She was a member of Residence Baptist Church.
