Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Community Funeral Home in Houma and 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at St. Luke Baptist Church in Waterproof. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. at the church, with burial in the church's cemetery. He is survived by two sons, Freddie Douglas Ruffin Jr. and Alfredy Earl Ruffin; one daughter, Jacquelyn Wright; one brother, Louis Ruffin; one sister, Sarah Chapman; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Manigault Ruffin; parents Eddie Ruffin and Mary Allen Ruffin; one daughter, Dr. Patricia Ruffin Kitaw; five brothers, Lloyd Ruffin, James Ruffin, Willie Ruffin Sr., Allen Ruffin and Luster Ruffin; and five sisters, Mildred R. Daniels, Ovida Bell Ruffin, Gertie Mae Ruffin, Cecile Ruffin and Ora Mae Ruffin Dunaway. He was a Christian Baptist and was a veteran of the United States Navy.
