Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Religious service will be at 11 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Joy Porche Poole of Houma; three sons, Felix "Pete" Keith Poole and wife, Brenda, of Raceland, Gary Thomas Poole and wife, Mary, and Judson John Poole and wife, Christy, of Houma; four daughters, Gwendolyn P. Boudreaux and husband, Donald "Spike", Jennifer P. Marcel and husband, Carroll, of Bayou Blue, Dawn P. Dupre and husband, Darren, of Bourg, and Donna P. Dupre and husband, Theryn, of Bayou Blue; two sisters, Melno Johnson of Hartsville, S.C., and Betty Benfield of Jacksonville, Fla.; 18 grandchildren, Keith Poole, Pam Billiot, Travis Poole, Christy Lightfoot, Brandee Theriot, Joshua Boudreaux, Jarryd Boudreaux, Kandace Stegall, Katie Stegall, Justin Giroir, Jessica Poole, Charley Poole, Courtney Hutchinson, Corey Dupre, Michelle LeBouef, Matthew Dupre, Tyler Dupre and Brittany Pellegrin; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Algar Odette Poole and Ethie Belle Prather Poole; and one brother, Milton Poole. He was a retired compressor operator with Texaco for 37 years and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
