Rodrigue, 71, a native of Valentine and resident of Raceland, died at 2:40 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, 2005. Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at First Assembly of God Church in Raceland. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in Barrios Cemetery in Valentine. He is survived by his former wife, Joyce Adams Vaughan; two sons, Calvin Rodrigue and Douglas Allen; two daughters, Ida Rose Brown and Melissa Breaux; one brother, Alex Rodrigue Jr.; four sisters, Shirley Sevin, Gertrude R. Hebert, Lillian Hidalgo and Loula May Chiasson; 12 grandchildren, Penny, Derrick and Jerrod Allen, Brandon, Summer, Amber and Haley Brown, Nicole, Brody and Gavin Breaux and Heidi and Devin Rodrigue; and five great-grandchildren, Kelly, Kendra, Brennon, Shelby Lynn and Avelyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex Jean and Ida Clair Marroy Rodrigue; six brothers, Calvin, Nicholas, Eddie, John and Louis Rodrigue and Frank Davis; three sisters, Lucille Guidroz, Lucia and Louise Rodrigue; and one granddaughter, Kira Rose "Kiki" Brown. He was a retired oilfield worker and a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed gardening and spoiling his grandchildren. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Raceland.
