Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Houma. Religious services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Betty Barton; five sons, John Barton Jr., Michael Barton and wife, Nancy, Jefferey Barton and wife, Barbara, Craig Barton and wife, Andrea, and Todd Barton and wife, Randi; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Barton and Willetta Downey Barton; and one sister, Evelyn Beatty. He was a U.S. World War II Navy veteran and a Korean War veteran. He was a pilot with Rotor-Aids Helicopter Company in Grand Isle.
