John Russell Sr.					[Photo]

John "Spot" Russell Sr., 47, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of 
Gibson, died at 8:14 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2005.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Community Funeral Home and from 9 
a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church in Gibson. Funeral 
service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church 
cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Diggs Russell of Gibson; three sons, Jeremy, 
Jacoby and John Russell Jr., all of Gibson; two daughters, Gailynn and Shanta 
Russell, both of Houma; three brothers, Stanley and Sydney James Russell, both 
of Gray and William Anthony "Percey" Russell of Gordon Grove, Calif.; three 
sisters, Delores Sylvan of Houma, Willie Mae Castle and husband, Louis, of Houma 
and Thelma Lee Ozane and husband, Roland, of Port Arthur, Texas; and three 
grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Russell Smith and Sydney 
Johnson; his stepfather, Isaac Smith; one sister, Jane Russell; and his 
grandparents, Delores Anderson and William Anderson.

He was a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church.
