Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Religious service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Matthews Episcopal Church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Lambert Matherne of Harvey; one son, Karl David Matherne and wife, Penny, of Marrero; two daughters, Monica M. Adams and husband, Robert, of Schriever, and Laurie Matherne of Harvey; one brother, Ronald Matherne of Houma; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Matherne and Marie Duplantis Matherne. He was a retired administrative assistant for Texaco Inc. and a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church.
