Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Raceland. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in Morristown Benevolent Cemetery in Raceland. She is survived by her father, Joseph Poindexter Sr. of Raceland; one daughter, Lori Thompson of Raceland; one adopted daughter, Erica Poindexter of Raceland; five sisters, Mary Poindexter, Brenda Joseph, Sharon Davis and Emelda Taplin of Raceland and Alice Washington of Boutte; five brothers, Joseph Jr., Isiah, Curtis, Sterling and Ronald Poindexter, all of Raceland; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Moses Thompson; her mother, Lula Mae Poindexter; one son, Johnny Thompson; and one sister, Gloria Johnson. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and served on the Deaconess Board and was a choir member.
