Thelma Dufrene

Thelma Matherne Dufrene, 82, a native of Des Allemands and resident of Paradis, 
died at 4:16 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to funeral time Wednesday at St. John the 
Baptist Catholic Church in Paradis. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the 
church, with burial in St. Charles Cemetery in Luling.

She is survived by her husband, Harris Dufrene Sr.; two sons, Harris Dufrene Jr. 
and Brian Dufrene; one daughter, Karen Russo; three brothers, George, Lester and 
Morris Matherne; four sisters, Elma Perrer, Velma Breaux, Bessie Matherne and 
Betty Champagne; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hypolite and Marie Clementine 
Matherne; one son, Kevin Wayne Dufrene; and two brothers, Eloie and Eddie 
Matherne.
