Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Th-ursday at Beautiful Zion Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in Southdown Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Lewis; her mother, Leola H. Allen; two sons, Elroy Baker and wife, Debra, of Houma, and Terry Baker and wife, Michelle, of Las Vegas; two daughters, Shena D. Johnson and husband, Keith Sr., of Anchorage, Alaska, and Nichole A. Washington and husband, William C. Washington Jr.; three brothers, Hayward Allen II, Ernest J. Allen and Lionel Allen, all of Houma; one sister, Judy A. Ruffin of Houma; six grandchildren; her goddaughter, Leona Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Hayward Allen Sr.; her paternal grandparents, Thomas and Hester Allen; her maternal grandparents, Atoine Harris and Nellie South; and one sister, Mercedes A. Clark. She was a retired PCA for South Louisiana Medical Center and was a homemaker. She was a member of Beautiful Zion Baptist Church. Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
