Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Third Zion Baptist Church in Raceland. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by one daughter, Lucille Whiley Gardner of San Francisco; one son, Wayne Smith Gardner of San Francisco; three sisters, Delores G. Hensley of Paradis, Rita G. Bussey of Kenner and Shirley G. Griffin of Killona; three brothers, Willie J. Gardner of Los Angeles, Ernest Gardner of Modesto, Calif., and Kenneth R. Gardner of Obesque, Calif.; three brothers-in-law, Leroy Hensley, Henry Bussey and Charlie Stewart; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Mae Gardner; his parents, Harold Gardner Sr. and Olevia Kent Gardner; and two brothers, Harold Gardner Jr. and Leroy Gardner. He was a member of Third Zion Baptist Church.
