Herbert Jenkins Sr.					Picture

Herbert Jenkins Sr., 87, a native and resident of Gibson, died Friday, Oct. 28, 
2005.

Religious services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Beulah Baptist Church, with 
burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by three sons, Herbert Jenkins Jr. and wife, Florestine, of 
Boutte, Wallace Washington and wife, Audrey, of Gibson and Larry Jenkins Sr. and 
wife, Darleen, of Gibson; two daughters, Mary Woods of Gray and Rosalle Chisel 
and husband, Warren, of Gibson; one brother, Carter Jenkins and wife, Irma, of 
Houma; and three sisters, Almeta Thompson and Octavia Williams, both of Gibson, 
and Dorothy Bartley of Houma.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vella Washington Jenkins; his parents, 
Phillip Jenkins and Australia Mitchell Jenkins; one daughter, Jennie Sims; two 
grandchildren, Sharon Smith and Timothy Jenkins; four brothers, Henry, Phillip, 
James and Richard Jenkins; and three sisters, Hester Jenkins, Annie Mae Granger 
and Lou Bertha Jenkins.

He was Baptist.
