Josephine Manuel

Josephine Manuel, 77, a native and resident of New Orleans, died Monday, Oct. 
31, 2005.

Religious service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Kennedy Funeral Home in 
Raceland, with burial in Rest Lawn Cemetery in Avondale.

She is survived by one daughter, JoAnn Fleming of New Orleans; one son, Fredrick 
Manuel of Austin, Texas; one brother, Sherman Washington Jr. of Boutte; two 
sisters, Thelma Young of Thibodaux and Leola Griffin of Los Angeles; and five 
grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Freddie Williams; her second 
husband, Benjamin Manuel; her parents, Sherman Washington Sr. and Hattie 
Washington; one son, Freddie Williams Jr.; five daughters; four brothers; and 
three sisters.

She was Baptist.
