Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Community Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with burial in Southdown Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Carrie Brown; one son, Curtis Lagarde; two daughters, Shannon Brown and Angle L. Lewis; three sisters, Rebecca Newton Brumfield, Mary L. Amacker and Rosadel Brown; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lula Ross and Eddie Brown; two brothers, Joseph Celestine and Junius Thomas; and two sisters, Martha Ross and Yvonne Brown. He was Baptist and worked for Louisiana State Police in weights and measures.
