The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= November 30. 2005 2:28PM Paul Voiron Sr. [Photo] Paul Jean Voiron Sr., 72, a native of New Orleans, former resident of Thib-odaux and resident of Plaquemines Parish, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2005. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Thibodaux Funeral Home. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Dosha Holden Voiron; his former wife of 46 years, Loretta Rodrigue Voiron of Thibod-aux; two sons, Paul "Polo" J. Voiron Jr. of Bayou Gauche, and Gary Voiron and wife, Gina Freche Voiron, of Myrtle Grove; two daughters, Vicky Voiron Hebert and husband, Dennis Hebert Jr., of Thibodaux and Melisa Voiron Duet of Thibodaux; one brother, Louis Voiron Sr. and wife, Diane Landry Voiron, of Belle Rose; four stepchildren, Bronson Guidry of Thibodaux, Timmy Guidry and wife, Gina, of Baton Rouge, Travis Guidry and wife, Muriel, of Thibodaux and Thorne Smither; 10 grandchildren, Derek, Scott and Brian Hebert, Ashlyn Loupe and Drake Voiron, Lauren, Ellen and Lane Voiron and Garet and Amanda Duet; and two step-grandchildren, Rhys Chiasson and Madison Guidry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise Polite Voiron and Eugene Voiron Sr.; three brothers, Eugene "Gene" Voiron Jr., Joe Voiron and Edward Voiron; and one step-grandchild, Bryson Guidry. He was a lifelong "real life" cowboy and was raised on a dairy farm in Westwego. His first job when he left home as a teenager was on a dairy farm in Franklinton. He was employed for 40 years at Voiron's Stockyard which was owned and operated by his older brother, Gene. He dedicated his whole life, until he became ill with lung cancer, to the love of his life -- cattle. Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
