Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Bonnie Jean Ledet Franklin; one son, Dean Henry Franklin and wife, Kate Meche Franklin; two daughters, Debbie Franklin Lausen and husband, Michael, and Donna Franklin Graham, all of Houma; two brothers, Les "Sonny" Franklin of Trinity, Texas, and William "Bill" Chapman of Bakersfield, Calif.; four sisters, Vera Smith of Trinity, Mary Ellen Standish of Houston, Pat Williams of Conroe, Texas, and Wilma Long of Conroe; and five grandchildren, Derek Henry Franklin, Marissa Lausen, Destin Lausen, Tristan Henry Graham and Rhiana Graham. He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi Franklin and Mary Ester Bell Franklin Chapman; his foster parents, Henry and Christina Schimth Bell; and one sister, Jeannet Franklin. He was co-owner of Cajun Vending of Houma with his son, Dean Franklin. He was a retiree of Shell Offshore Co. after 26½ years and worked for Delta Ironworks for seven years prior to Shell. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 8779 and was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. He was a wonderful Christian man and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
