Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Memorial Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2. She is survived by two children, Philip Maud and expecting wife, Jill, and Hailey Foster and husband, Blair, who were the greatest joys of her life; her mother, Ernestine Boudreaux Ellender; and her six siblings, Ernestine Springer and husband, Lawrence, Dr. S.E. Ellender and wife, Sandra, Van Ellender, Jane Rabalais and husband, Philip, Anne Phillips and husband, Morris, and Robert Ellender; and her former husband, Peter Maud. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. S. Ernest Ellender Sr. She was a graduate of Newcomb College in New Orleans and spent her years in various occupations, including social worker, realtor, food and clothing bank director, and ultimately, a writer. She had an incredible passion for life. Up until the very last moments, she touched people's hearts and kept her amazing sense of humor. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She was a loving mother and grandmother-to-be. In lieu of flowers, Masses or donations to Catholic Social Services, 1220 Aycock St., Houma, La. 70360 for the Food Banks, are preferred.
