Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. to funeral time Friday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the church, with burial in St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 1. He is survived by his parents, Maurice and Yves LeBlanc Rome; five sisters, Beth Larke and husband, James, Isabelle Tabor and husband, Thomas, Becky Whitney and husband, Michael, Aimee Leckelt and husband, Keith, and Angie Walsh and husband, Tim; three brothers, Maurice "Jerry" Rome Jr. and wife, Yvonne, Philip Rome and wife, Tammy, and Edward Rome and wife, Connie; 16 nieces and nephews, Melissa Larke Lawrence, his god-child, Sarah, James and Jeffrey Larke, Jeri Ann and Gerard Rome, Zachary, Kacie and Joshua Rome, Rebecca and Isabelle Tabor, Anna Wheeler and Emma Whitney and Nicholas, Christopher and Charlotte Rome; and two great-nephews, Evan and Alexander Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Abel and Isabelle Guidry LeBlanc and George and Agnes Gaudet Rome. He was a past deputy grand knight of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1317, a past faithful navigator of Judge Adrian Caillouet Assembly, 4th degree Knights of Columbus and a parishioner and Extraordinary Minister of Communion of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. He was a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle and friend. His greatest enjoyment was being with his large family, his many friends and his pets. Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
