Granier, 94, a native of Vacherie, a longtime resident of Hammond and Ponchatoula and a resident of Houma, died at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond. Religious service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with interment in Greenlawn Mausoleum. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Charles Gruber of Mount Dora, Fla.; one son and daughter-in-law, P.C. and Carolyn Granier of Houma; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Ethel Simon and Buel and Hilda Simon of New Orleans; one sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine and Henry Caire of Luling; two grandchildren, Paul C. Granier III of Plano, Texas, and Allison Caro of Gray; and four great-grandchildren, Brody, Mikaela, Danielle and Jonathan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, P.C. Granier Sr.; her parents, Edmond Joseph and Helena Waguespack Simon; two sisters, Enid Waguespack and Helena Reustle; and two brothers, Morris and Edmond Simon Jr. She was a retired schoolteacher for 31 years in the Tan-gipahoa Parish School District and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Hammond. Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
