The date preceding the obituary is the date of posting on the WWW, not the date of death. ============================= November 10. 2005 12:34PM Winnie Lake Picture Winnie Elizabeth Davison Lake, 89, a native of Seagoville, Texas, a former resident of New Orleans and resident of Houma, died at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Falgout Funeral Home Chapel. Service will be at noon Friday at the chapel. Graveside prayers will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Westlawn Memorial Park in Gretna. She is survived by one son, William "Billy" Lake and wife, Joyce Gonzales Lake, of Houma; her former daughter-in-law, Deanne Lake Johnson and husband, Larry Johnson, of Waitsburg, Wash.; five grandchildren, William Lake Jr. and wife, Jean, of Houma, Donna L. Richard of Covington, Robert Lake of Houma, Thomas Lake and wife, Nicole, of Walker and Jason Lake of Whitefish, Mont.; and nine great- grandchildren, Brad, Chris, Suzette, Nicolette, Gavin and John Allen Lake Jr. and Jared, Jamie and Janee' Richard of Covington. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry "Lefty" Lake; her parents, Wade Hampton and Lillie Lee Moores Lake; and one son, John Allen Lake. She was an artist in oil and China paintings and talented in silk florals and many more arts and crafts in her lifetime. She was known and loved by many including friends and family who will miss her very much and will always be remembered. She was a member of the New Orleans Art Association, a charter member of Fleur- de-lis Garden Club for 40 years and twice recipient of "Woman of the Year" honors. She was a very loving and thoughtful mother and grandmother who was always there to help. She was a member of Aurora Methodist Church in Algiers. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
