Houma Courier; Tuesday Feb. 8, 1938 

Octave AUTHEMENT

Funeral services were held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Little Caillou 
Monday morning February 7 at eight o'clock for Mr. Octave AUTHEMENT, age 79, of 
Chauvin, LA.
Mr. AUTHEMENT was a life-long resident of Terrebonne Parish and was well known 
in this section. 
Surviving the deceased are his sons, Messers Morgan AUTHEMENT of Houma, Leo, 
Arthur and Oscar AUTHEMENT, all of Little Caillou, his daughters, Mrs. Oristile 
BABIN of Bayou Dularge, Mrs. Luke RHODES of Houma, Mrs. Walter BLANCHARD of 
Little Caillou, Mrs Arthur PORTEAUX and Mrs. Ida AUTHEMENT.
Chauvin funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

FABIOLA BABIN AUTHEMENT

Mrs. Fabiola Babin Authement, native and resident of Houma, died at 8 pm 
Saturday at a local nursing home.  She was 90.
Mrs. Authement was the wife of the late Wallace Authement and the daughter of 
the late Augustin Babin and Octavia Usie Babin.
She is survived by two sons, Ralph and Allen Authement of Houma;  three 
daughters, Mrs Ernest (Bessie) Cunningham of Jeanerette, Mrs. Lottie Blanchard 
of Houma and Mrs. Charles (Elsie) Fatchett of Bourg.
She is also survived by five brothers - Henry, Clarence, Lawrence, Wilton and 
Norris Babin;  and three sisters - Mrs. Wiltz Duplantis of Houma, Mrs Henry 
Lirette of Little Caillou and Mrs. Arthur Portier of Little Caillou.
Mrs. Authement was preceded in death by one daughter, Blanche Boudreaux;  by two 
brothers, Edwin and Sidney Babin;  and by one sister, Mrs. Hayes Pellegrin.
She had 21 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 8 great great 
grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. today at Chauvin Funeral Home and will 
resume at 8 a.m. until funeral time, which has not been set.
The funeral will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and interment will 
follow in the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
