SLVFR - from South Louisiana Vital Family Records by Terrebonne Genealogicial Society ============================ Houma Courier March 22, 1938 Two Killed in Collision at Thibodaux Marion AYO, 20, Dies Following Accident Marion AYO, 20, young white man of Thibodaux and Junius FRY, 20, negro, of the Webb plantation were killed in a collision two miles north of Thibodaux at 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon. According to Dr. C. J. Barker, coroner of Lafourche parish, the reports he heard indicated that the car driven by AYO, which was traveling toward Thibodaux swerved in the road, and when attempting to avoid hitting a telephone pole, turned broadside striking the car driven by FRY which was proceeding in the opposite direction. Several Injured. Besides the two killed, Edward AYO and Norman and Newton BOUDREAUX, passengers in the AYO car and all of Thibodaux were slightly injured. They are expected to be recovered sufficiently to leave the Thibodaux hospital Tuesday and return to their homes. In the negro's car there were five other negroes, two of whom were taken to New Orleans for treatment. The other negroes were not seriously injured. The names of the negroes were not known. ============================
