Mr. BABIN had reached the advanced age of 95 years but retained his health and vigor til a few days prior to his death. Mr. BABIN's friends and relatives can scarcely realize that the venerable patriarchal figure will no longer be a part of their local gatherings. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at nine o'clock at St. Francis de Sales Church in Houma. Rev. J. P. JANSSEN officiated at the solemn requiem high Mass assisted by the altar boys, Donald HEBERT, J. M. LAPEYRE, E. LAPEYRE and Fred SERPAS. Music and singing were rendered by the St. Francis de Sales choir. Practically the entire population of the lower Bayou Blue besides numerous friends from Houma attended the last rites and accompanied Mr. BABIN's remains to its last resting place in the family tomb. The deceased was the father of ten children, only six of whom survive him, namely, Mrs. H. PITRE, Mrs. F. BERGERON, Mrs. F. LABIT, Mrs. N. THIBODAUX, Mr. Z. BABIN and Mr. Valerie BABIN.
