The deceased was a successful farmer and was well known thru-out [sic] the parish. His death is deplored by scores of friends in Houma. The burial took place in the St. Francis de sales Cemetery Saturday morning, following funeral services in the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Houma. ============================= Submitted by: Nancy Wright EMILE BERGERON The Houma Courier, Thursday, Nov. 6, 1930 DEATH ENDS CAREER OF EMILE BERGERON On October 23 in Houston occurred the death of Emile J. Bergeron, brother of Henry J. Bergeron, owner of the Bergeron Machine Works of Houma. Deceased was a native of Thibodaux and was 70 years old. He had been a resident of Houston 15 years. He had another brother, Frank Bergeron, a resident of California and is survived by his widow and eight children, six sons and two daughters. Bergeron born February 18, 1857, native and lifelong resident of Houma, died at his residence Monday at 5:50 a.m. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, with interment in the Catholic cemetery. Note: Catholic cemetery is St. Francis de Sales, No. 1, behind the church, death date was March 2, 1931 ============================== Submitted by: Cynthia Fatchett Daigle JAMES BATISTE BERGERON The Houma Times; Saturday July 13, 1929 Mr. James Batiste BERGERON, aged 65 years, died on pneumonia at his residence in Houma, on Monday, July 6 at 9 pm. Mr. BERGERON was a native of this parish where he was widely known in business circles. For several years he operated a bakery and dairy in Houma. He was a conservative business man and was successful in his business ventures. The funeral services were held at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Houma, on Tuesday, July 9 at 5:50 o'clock pm. Interment took place in the Catholic Cementery.
