SLVFR - from South Louisiana Vital Family Records by Terrebonne Genealogicial Society ============================ The Houma Courier; October 27, 1917 VENERABLE LADY PASSES AWAY Elisda Evelina BARRAS On Wednesday, October 24, passed away one of Terrebonne's venerable ladies in the death of Mrs. Ernest BONVILLAIN, nee Elisda Evelina BARRAS, born July 16, 1847. The funeral ceremonies took place on Bayou Black at St. Anthony's Church and she was buried in the cemetery adjoining. A large concourse of friends and relatives attended the services. ______ lady had all the ___ respect of the community _____ large family to mourn her ____ daughters, Misses Lena, Eva, Louise, Mrs. L. LUDE, Mrs. A. HAMBEAU, Mrs. Willie WATKINS; five sons, Messrs M. P. BONVILLAIN, Robert, Claiborne, Leufroid L. and Ernest. Besides these she leaves two brothers and thirteen grandchildren, twelve neices and six nephews.
