She is survived by her widower and five children: three daughters, Mrs. W. J. Chauffe of Houma; Mrs. F. D. Stevens of Belglade, Florida; and Mrs. Burnley White of Norfolk, Virginia; and two sons, Dr. D. J. Daspit of Franklin; and W. J. Daspit of Baton Rouge. (New Iberia, La.) 1894-1946, February 17, 1917, Image 3 Oscar Daspit, for many years a prominent citizen of Terrebonne parish, died at the home of his son, J. C. Daspit, in Baton Rouge, last Sunday, aged 69 years, leaving a widow, three sons and two daughters to mourn his loss. Mr. Daspit was sheriff of Terrebonne parish following the civil war, and engaged in sugar planting for a good many years. - Donaldsonville Chief.
