March 3, 1993 MARGARET HORNSBY Margaret Badeaux Hornsby, 79, a native of Thibodaux and a resident of Montegut for 41 years, died Monday, March 2 (1992). Visitation will be from 5 to 10 tonight at the Montegut Fire Station and Thursday from 8 am until funeral time. Funeral services will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10 am. She is survived by one son, Irby J. Hornsby Jr. of Gretna; and three daughters, Mrs. Russell H. (Margaret Ann) Hebert, Mrs. Glenn M. (Patricia) Crochet, both of Montegut, and Mrs. James (Carole) Glorioso of Houma. She is also survived by two brothers, J. Alvin Badeaux and J. Leslie Badeaux, both of Thibodaux; two sisters, Mrs. Sam J. (Vivian) Bergeron, Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Julius M. (Theresa Mae) Fernandez of Franklin; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irby J. Hornsby Sr.; her parents, Charles A. Badeaux Sr. and Vivian Knobloch Badeaux; two brothers, Monsignor A. Carroll Badeaux and Charles A. Badeaux Jr.; a sister, M. Adeline Badeaux; and one grandchild. She was active in civic, charitable and religious affairs in the community. In 1968, she was named Montegut's first Top Citizen, and in 1969 was chosen Business and Professional Woman of the Year. She was a charter member and president of Russell Redmond Unit 272 American Legion Auxillary, Montegut; the Theresians of Houma; Sacred Heart Legion of Mary praesdium; Pere Denece Court 1891 Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and St. Joseph Benedictine High School Home and School Association. Mrs. Hornsby wrote the Montegut news for the Houma Daily Courier for nearly 10 years. She helped to establish the Montegut Public Relations Committee, serving as secretary for many years. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, 70 East Lake St. Suite 600, Chicago, Ill, 60601. ===============================
