M. at the St. Francis de Sales church in Houma. Father Caillouet Officiated. He is survived by his father, Alex A. Lirette, one sister, Mrs. A. G. Woods and one brother, Edward A. Lirette. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Chauvin Funeral Home. The mother of the deceased, the former Marie Fields of Montegut, died October 25, 1937. ================================= EUGENE A. Lirette, 30 years of age, son of Alex Lirette, a resident of Baytown, Texas for the past several years, were conducted by Rev. Lucien Caillouet, at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Houma last Saturday, at 9 o'clock a.m. Interment took place in the Catholic cemetery. Chauvin Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements. The deceased is survived by his father, Alex A. Lirette, one sister, Mrs. A. G. Woods and one brother, Edward A. Lirette. ================================= WINNIFRED LIRETTE LIRETTE Houma Courier Deaths, 1990 [Picture] Winnifred Lirette Lirette, 75, a native and resident of Houma, died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Burial will be in the church's No. 1 cemetery. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Marie) Alsabrook and Mrs. Allen (Anne) Ashley of Houma, and a granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lirette, and her parents, Charles and Cecile Boudreaux Lirette. She was a parishioner of St. Francis and a retired school teacher. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Francis de Sales School Endowment Fund. =========================== PHILONISE SAMANIE LIRETTE The Houma Times; March 9, 1929 Mrs. Franklin LIRETTE (nee Philonise SAMANIE), age 78 years, died in New Orleans on Monday March 4 at 2 oclock am after an illness of several months. Her remains were brought to Houma for burial in the Catholic Cemetery. The funeral services took place at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church here on Tuesday March 5 at 8:30 am Mass. Mrs. LIRETTE was a member of the Ladies Altar Society of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Her passing is mourned by a large number of friends and relatives in this community. She is survived by several children. Mrs. LIRETTE was a resident of Terrebonne Parish, where she leaves a large number of friends and relatives to mourn her death. ANNOTATION: SLR v. 6, p. 228 & 285 HENRI, Lutetia (Leandre HENRI & Elize BERGERON) m. 28 Dec 1880 Jean LIRETTE (James LIRETTE & Pharalie THIBODEAUX); Montegut Ch.: v. 3, p. 90. ============================ Submitted by: Nancy Wright VOLCAR LIRETTE The Houma Times, July 17, 1936, page 1, col. 1 Volcar Lirette, age 85 years, a highly esteemed citizen of Terrebonne Parish, died at the residence of hi son in-law, John Guidry at Montegut, on Sunday, July 11th at 1:00 a.m. He was a native of this parish and many years ago, he wedded Miss Augel Porche also of Terrebonne parish.. His passing is deeply mourned by a large number of relatives and friends here. Hi is survived by his wife, three sons, Sidney of Matthews, La., Lawrence of Bay Town, Texas; and Eddie of Terrebonne Parish. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. John Guidry, Mrs. Freddie Daigle of New Orleans, and Mrs. Ernest Petterson, of Port Arthur, Texas. The funeral services were held at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Houma, on Monday, July 12th at 10:00 a.m., with interment in the Catholic Cemetery here. Chauvin Funeral Home in charge.
