LOUIS MATHERNE    The Houma Courier, dated either 17 or 18 June 1993.

Louis Joseph Matherne, 61 a native of Des Allemands and a resident of Cut Off, died Wednesday, June 16, 1993 of natural causes.
Mass was at 10 a.m. today at Christian Fellowship Church in Cut Off with burial in the church cemetery in Galliano.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Billiot Matherne, three sons, Warren, Rodney and Roddie Matherne; one daughter, Evelyn Jarrell; three brothers, Paul, Stanley and Gilbert Matherne; two sisters, Nolia Gros and Louise Matherne; eight grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Blanche Badeaux Matherne; one son, Terry Matherne; one daughter, Gay Marie Matherne; and one brother, Wilfred Matherne.

MAY ARCEMENT MATHERNE   Houma Courier Deaths, 1989, page 216

May Arcement Matherne, 72, a native of Montegut and a resident of Houma, died at 
9:32 p.m. Tuesday.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until funeral 
time Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 9 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis de
Sales Cathedral. Burial will be in the church's No. 2 Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband; Terral J. Matherne Sr.; two sons, Terral J. 
Matherne Jr. of Pineville, La., and Michael Matherne of Houma; a daughter, 
Cynthia Matherne of Houma; three brothers, George and Raymond Arcement of Houma 
and Eugene Arcement of Bayou Blue; two sisters, Edith de Generes and Hattie 
Chauvin of Houma; and fourgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Abdon and Eloyne Belanger Arcement; 
two brothers, Eddie and James Arcement; and a sister, Dorothy Labit.
She was a parishioner of St. Francis and a Terrebonne Parish school teacher.
Chauvin Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
