LUCIUS PONTIFF       Houma Courier dated either 17 or 18 June 1993

Lucius Julien Pontiff, 85, a native and resident of Houma, died at 9:25 p.m. 
Wednesday, June 16, 1993.
  Visitation will be 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time 
Saturday at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma.  Mass will be at 10 a.m. at St. 
Bridget Catholic Church in Schriever with burial in the church cemetery.
  He is survived by three sons, Lucius J. Pontiff of Foster City, Calif., Alvin 
J. Pontiff of Schriever and Lawrence A. Pontiff of Houma; two daughters, Loraine 
P. Richard and Shirley P. Boudreaux, both of Houma; two sisters, Mildred Pontiff 
and Velma P. Black, both of Liberty, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-
grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Duet Pontiff; his parents, Uselin 
and Octavia Navarre Pontiff; and two sons, Ray J. and Earl P. Pontiff.
  He was a parishioner of St. Bridget Catholic Church.
