Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial at Holy Rosary Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Johanna Marie Trahan Wallace of Houma; three sons, Dana M. and Timoth [sic] Wallace, both of Houma, and Gene S. Wallace of Camden, Ark.; two daughters, Mrs. Dale (Gina) W. Breaux and Robin W. Crochet, both of Houma; three brothers, Wayne and Terry Wallace, both of Houma, and Vernon R. Wallace, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev., one sister, Ginger W. Dryden of Houma; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Robert and Virginia Rose Toups Wallace. He was an oilfield salesman for Coastal Wire and Rope Company, U. S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War, member Marine Corps League and parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church. ============================= Submitted by: Nancy Wright Houma Courier Deaths, 1992, page 194 Vernon Wallace VERNON "BUDDY" ROBERT WALLACE SR., 82, a native of Bogue Chitto, Miss., and a resident of Houma, died at 2:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9, 1992. Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Chauvin Funeral Home Religious services will be at 1 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with interment in Holy Rosary Cemetery. He is survived by four sons, Vernon Wallace Jr., of Las Vegas, Marvin, Wayne and Terry Wallace of Houma; one daughter, Ginger Wallace Dryden of Houma; one brother, Harold Wallace of Alabama; one sister, Mrs. John (Louise) Allgood of Brookhaven, Miss.; 13 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 19 great grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Toups Wallace; his parents, Manuel and Bertha McCaffrey Wallace; three brothers, Herman, Alton and Marvin Wallace; and three sisters, Alma Holloway, Lillian McGee, Lessie McGee and Mae Cannon and one grandchild He was a member of First Baptist Church. Wallace VIRGINIA TOUPS WALLACE, 76, a native and resident of Houma, died at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday [May 10, 1989]. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday afternoon at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Vernon Wallace Sr.; four sons, Vernon Wallace Jr., of Las Vegas and Marvin, Terry and Wayne Wallace, all of Houma; a daughter, Ginger W. Dryden of Houma; three sisters, Madeline Toups and Daisy Johansen, both of Houma, and Margaret Heffner of Wharton, Texas; 13 grandchildren; a step- grand-child; 12 great grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Agnes Whitney Toups; a grandson, Chris Wallace; three brothers, George Jr., Carl and Kenneth Toups; two sisters, Bessie Lauland and Mickey Toups; and a grandson.
